Recently an old colleague reached out to me after being laid off.
He had been working at one of the companies with the highest rating for job security on Glassdoor, yet here he was—looking for his next role.
It got me thinking: working with a big brand doesn’t guarantee job security.
No matter how well-known or stable the company seems, circumstances can change in a heartbeat.
That’s why you need to become a brand yourself.
Every job application now asks for your LinkedIn profile.
It’s no longer just a nice-to-have; it’s your digital resume.
Keeping it optimized and updated is just as important as refreshing your actual resume.
It’s the first place recruiters and employers check to understand your professional identity.
So, take control of your narrative. Build your personal brand. It’s your true job security.
Feel free to reach me if you need help.
